To create a Volunteer Job Ad on My Community Directory you must have access to an approved listing.

If your Organisation is not registered yet your are able to do so here by following this steps in our HOW TO List for Free guide.

If your Organisation is already registered on My Community Directory you are able to request access to it by Creating A User Account and clicking on the Join an organisation already listed button.

Once you have an approved listing on My Community Directory you are able to create a Volunteer Job Ad in 3 ways.

First Option - Create a Job for Your Location


  1. From the Members Centre Dashboard click on the Tools drop-down on the left side panel and then on the Volunteer Jobs button.
  2. From the Volunteer Jobs screen click on the Create New Volunteer Job button
  3.  There are 4 mandatory fields to fill in to create a Volunteer Ad.
    1. Job Title
    2. Brief Description
    3. Webpage link to job (can be your website or an external website, Seek etc.)
    4. Which service the job is linked to
  4. After clicking the Save button you will be brought to the Volunteer Job Details screen. From here you will be able to review the details of the Volunteer Ad.
    You will also see the date the job will run, by default this will be 4 weeks. If you need to make any adjustments remember to click the Save button when you are done. Once you are happy with the Volunteer Ad, click on the Cancel button to be taken back to the Volunteer Jobs screen or navigate to other parts of the website using the left sidebar.


Second Option - Create a Job for Another Location Within Your Organisation


  1. From the Members Centre Dashboard click the Edit Listing button.
  2. On the Location Details page you are able to use the Switch Location button to choose which Location the Volunteer Ad is for. Once you have chosen the Location click on the Expand button to the right of Location Details or click the Expand All button
  3. You will see some basic information about your Location as well as the option to answer if you are looking for volunteers - the default setting for this is 'No'.
    Clicking on the 'Yes' answer (even if 'Yes' is already highlighted) will bring up the dialogue box for you to create a Volunteer Ad with the 4 mandatory fields
    1. Job Title
    2. Brief Description
    3. Webpage link to job (can be your website or an external website, Seek etc.)
    4. Which service the job is linked to 
  4.  Clicking Save will save the Job and you will be able to create another one by clicking the 'Yes' again.


Third Option - Setting up a Volunteer Enquiry
If you do not with to advertise any volunteer positions, but wish to inform users you would be willing to get in contact with the right person, you are able to do so by answering 'Maybe' while editing your Location page.
